It was two years ago today that FlingFinder was launched into an already saturated adult dating market. I was convinced, and still am, that the needs of the market weren't being met. That most adult dating sites treated guys like suckers and people would really respond to a site that kept an even ratio of men to women, and kicked out all of the scammers (btw here is where I kick the scammers to - quite a collection).
The catch-22 of launching a dating site is that you need members to attract members. It's a tricky one. Why would you join if there is no one from your area? Initially it helps to think of the site as a place to meet chat buddies, not necessarily in person. We were VERY lucky to get a bunch of really fun and active members early on to keep the ball rolling through the quiet times.
The first night I was sitting there in the chat room wondering if anyone would show up and in rocks Digitalmess to show me the ropes. mercedes76 arrived on the scene that first week too, as well as ifonly, tattie and Syl. Roman, foxy, HBG and beanie were early ones, then my mate nux joined us. I feel like I'm on on Romper Room now. "And there's hella! and Sassie, 6ft, diver and gonz, drakey, rampant, hope, storm and tish. And I see you too!"
Growth has been slow but steady, and is really gaining momentum as all the different locations and demographics fill up. The flip-side of that catch-22 is that the more members you have, the more you attract until growth becomes exponential.
We're through the hard part. Bring on year 3!
