Every Fathers Dream
So, my Daughter is going out with a drummer in a heavy metal/screamo band, yay me ! Thats just what every father wants, eh?
Of course i was rather annoyed at first, he's 22, she's 18, he's a drummer in a pretty successful band, she's a silly young groupie, he'll have a whole bunch of groupies chasing him, she'll be too naive to see it....yadda yadda. But, i guess you can't judge a book by its cover... they've been together for almost a year now, and he seems to worship the ground she walks on. Perhaps he's a keeper after all? His band is currently in negotiations with a record label, so who knows, they might even make it big.
I hate screamo music, but these guys are a bit different, its not all screaming.... they actually have a "real" vocalist also, so i kinda don't mind it.

This kid seems to really love my daughter though, doesn't treat her like a groupie, at least not yet anyway. It will be interesting to see if he feels the same way if/when they make it big-ish. I mean, they play to a lot of big crowds now, and he seems to have no interest in the groupies.. seems to have his head screwed on alright. I've advised my daughter about not getting too attached and pointed out that he is after all, a male....and a lot of males find it difficult to resist temptation, especially in his situation where groupies will be throwing themselves at him.756 Comments - 117 Blog Posts

Brunswick Heads, NSW, AUThe tour went awesome apparently, and they have two more tours coming up in the next few months. They are still in negotiations with the label, so nothing signed yet....and i probably shouldn't be talking about that....whoops!

Brunswick Heads, NSW, AUCheers. The kid goes alright on the drums in the first clip too i reckon. They've just set off on a quick 10day national tour tonight, where i suspect they might be announcing a record deal. I'm not a huge fan because i dont normally like the genre, but their stuff is growing on me. To steal a line from a good friend - "the singer needs to take a strepsil"
