I was just kicking back doing my usual Saturday ritual watching the ponies go around on tv. I'm not much of a punter at all, but i do like to watch the nags on a Saturday, its a nice relaxing arvo.
Anyway, The last race of the day was about to start, Brisbane race 8, and the caller said "there's been a big betting move on track for number 11, Firedrake !" I thought, oh cool, a horse with the same name as a mates nickname....gotta be an omen !
I thought bugger it, i had not had a bet all day, so i opened up my TAB account online and i had $15 left, and "Firedrake" was paying $7.90.... i filled in the slip for $5 each way when iheard the announcer say "Firedrake is still being heavily backed on track".... so i thought bugger it, i'll just back him for the win only..... so $10 on the shnoz was the bet i made. Just as they were about to jump the price shortened to $5.20 - bugga. But, he jumped out and went straight to the lead and led all the way. NICE !
Thanks Drakey, because of you i managed to get a few more play bets... LOL.
I won't talk about a horse called "Hoodlum" that i backed recently just because of its name... bastard of a thing. I went off the horse i had marked down to back and backed Hoodlum instead... the horse i meant to back won, Hoodlum ran 4th :(

I still have the TV on and they are racing at Moonee Valley tonight, and the race about to run.... Hoodlum is in it !!
He's the roughie of the field, but Ahh i gotta have a few bucks on it - Just in case :-/
