An Executive Opinion

When I recently stumbled onto FF I was asking myself why am I here, what value can this bring to me and what would I like to achieve with my participation on FF. Earlier I discarded any thoughts of being active in social chat rooms but this time round I opened my mind and decided to give it a go and see what happens. Following are some of my initial thoughts:

Initially it was difficult following conversations, especially when many participants were active, but it seems the mind and eyes are terrific learners and soon one could pick out the comments addressed to you or those of interest. What I liked was the immediate welcoming feeling from the community and assistance received whenever I asked for it. Not being experienced in chat rooms I did not know what to say, when to say what I wanted to say and if what you want to say is actually sensible or not. In the corporate world lunch and dinner meeting chatter are about strategies, finances, resources and so forth but never about everyday chit chat like how are you, what have you done today or just any easy, everyday subject. Of course emotions, desires and needs like love, affection and sex is out of the question..........

So what am I getting out of this. I enjoy how the community is sharing their views and needs and I enjoy being able to offer my opinion and guidance to those who I may help or those who appreciate it, it is just so nice to give rather than to receive for a change, and one do not realize how a corporate world without emotions can deprive you of one of those important aspects which makes us human.

Was my main driver for joining FF the possibility of finding sex partners, then my answer is no. If sex is the only objective to achieve by participating on this site then I think it is easier to just pay for what you want or help yourself. What I have found in this virtual community though, is a number of individuals, younger and more mature, whom I believe I could socialise with and even maybe some day call some of them friends. It is just so great to chat about anything, naughty and nice and receive some opinion or response from the room.

Some of you already know I travel a lot which means lots of lonely times and empty hours but I would like to think those days may be over. Soon I'll be heading out again to explore the corporate world in different countries but this time will be different as I can take my FF friends with me, wherever I travel in the world.

Keep chatting and keep being the great community you are.

May be hard 6ft but something to aspire to ...... Look at www.milehighclub.com for some amazing and hilarious stories. Maybe I should advertise for a "travel companion" on FF.

Absolutely agree Joystick, a pity I'll be missing on the events organised for Sydney and Brissie, wud've been great to meet some of the virtual friends in person.

Yes the virtual world is great for travellers. But frustrating too. You're never on the right spot when you feel THE need. And if you get involved more seriously. But often it is better than 'nothing'.

Just do not forget that on-line friends might become real friends too. They have feelings and (may) deserv the same respect as people you meet IR. We passengers on the same spaceship and follow the same instincts.
