About photos, & why yours was declined

Updated 10 Dec, 16 - 14 Comments.

I’ve had a few messages from members lately wondering why their photos weren’t approved. Mostly photos of t-shirts, jeans, knee caps, feet.

Our general rule of thumb is… what sort of photo do you find useful when checking out a profile?

I understand that privacy is a major consideration for a lot of users. It doesn’t have to be your whole gob (although those are the most successful). It does have to say something significant about you.

Having a main photo means you can send flirts for free. Nothing pisses flirt-receivers off more than a fake internet porn photo, a photo of your dog (put it in your scrapbook - all good), your dick, a photo of the corner of your left ear.

Your main photo needs to say “Hi - this is me!” in a way that’s meaningful.

It’s objective, obviously. Difficult to adjudicate and always open to the interpretation and discretion of the moderator.

The key is… is that a pic you’d want to see??

When I see your profile pic one that says something significant about you your argument would mean more. Guess we might have similar reasons for wanting to control our privacy. Nice you asked thou.

Hey oods, just a heads up that there's an issue with mobile chat, no buttons and unable to send messages! Sorry no other way to let you know!

Hi. Sorry, we had technical problems this morning but hopefully everything's OK now.

That is where the chat room is a good idea, if they are not prepared to show their face there, than they are proabably not who they are presenting themselves as. Though everyone I have met, even without chatting, did have their own photos, and I always request to have seen a facial shot. Bit easier to find the right face, rather than the chest shot.. ;)

Have a question which someone mentioned to me the other week which made me think. If someone posts a profile photo whether its a chest photo or one of their backside how do you know that its them it not something lifted off the net. I suppose its more about being careful before meeting up as theres always the stories of people looking completely different to the ones they use as a profile shot online.

Yep Agree oods, would be nice to see something when you look at profiles, even most profile are only half filled out these days.. Ive been looking through this gap of mine for a long time now but i don't see many with any pics on profiles.. As you can see I've half hidden my face as I'm such a handsome beast id get swamped with way way too many emails to reply too.. i just wouldn't be able to keep up :( but at least i have pictures in private where they can see me if i so desire.. :) Keep up the good work :)

but yours is fine oods - it suits ya ;)

I agree, something is better that nothing, but people need to use their imagination a bit!

    Good luck with the sorting.
